This Thursday (11/13), I am excited to be moderating #ElemMathChat on “Writing in Math Class.” The chat will be 9:00 – 10:00 EST and our discussion questions are below. Hopefully, you will be able to join us, but if you cannot, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section!

    Thank you for staying up late to moderate! If nothing else, I hope this chat drives some folks to your blog and/or to follow you on Twitter. You have so many great examples of student writing that show how much students can reason and communicate mathematically.

    Wow! I just discovered your blog tonight via Twitter and I can not stop reading! I am a teacher on special assignment in Southern California working to assist our district in the transition to the CCSS for math. I am in awe of your students’ work and the deep level of understanding they seem to have. Oh, to be a fly on the wall during your math instructional time. Can’t wait to read more. Thank you so much for sharing all of this! I am so inspired.

      Thank you so much Meghan!! That is such a huge compliment and I truly appreciate you reading my blog! I absolutely love what I do and try to great a learning culture in my room in which the students feel the same. Great fun! On a separate note, what part of southern CA are you working with? I am working on a project with Jody Guarino from Orange County!
